Me and my CCF in Beijing Day 2
Very, very hot. The cab I got into had no air-con, and I was sweating profusely within ten minutes through the rush hour jam. It was SO DAMN HOT. It was a relief to get out - standing under the scorching sun was less suffocating, at the very least.
And I breathed a sigh of relief as I walked into China Life Tower.
And then, after much hassle of walking into offices (even the unit number on the letter was either wrong, or outdated), I discovered that FutureBrand Beijing was in SOHO. And I had gone to some branch office that overseas all the marketing firms such as Weber Shanwick and FB. Fabulous. Into the cab I go again, no air-con again. This time, I wound down the window on my own accord to allow the air in, and thought about all the dust collecting on my face.
All that matters is that I am here, and I'm glad the office is in SOHO. Happening district, right above a shopping centre, pretty near the Silk Street Market, from what I figured on the cab ride. More importantly, there is a piano studio right at the bottom of my office (and my colleague informed me that it is really cheap - a Chinese citizen said it's cheap, it has to be really cheap!), so guess where I'll be spending my after office hours. Hopefully the pianos are good, but I'm just thankful I found a studio so easily, literally at my doorstep.
So here I am, slacking away the first morning of my Beijing internship.
And the sun is so hot I can feel is through the window.

Hey hey...just ask the cabby to turn on the ac next time! You're paying for it anw. A lot of cabbies do that to save money on petrol, and partially coz most are smoking whilst waiting for passengers. In GZ, i always make them turn it on (and shut their windows too!) if they dun do it after the meter starts. Just make them do it! And Chinese cheap may not always be cheap. A lot of CHinese are filthy rich. Anw, in this case, should be really cheap. Lucky you...bet I wun be able to find anything like this in GZ. Too commercialized!
